Laundry Tips
Get the Most Out of Your LG Washer and Dryer by Following These Easy Laundry Tips
Read the labels
It is very important to read the care label attached to the clothes before washing them. This label
will guide you in separating the different clothes and selecting the right cycle out of the may choices that your
LG washer offers.
Pretreat stains
To remove stains from dirty clothes, make sure you follow the instructions on our Stain Removal Guide page.
Sort your
laundry
It is very important to separate your laundry by fabric type, color, and water temperature as
specified on the label.
Divide laundry into the following 5 categories for best
results
1. Whites-Everything white such as underwear,
socks, t-shirts, etc
2. Lights-Everything light including whites with stripes, off whites, light colors such as
pastels
3. Darks-Everything dark like blacks, navy blues,
browns, dark grays
4. Brights-Everything bright including reds, yellows, oranges, and any fluorescents
5. Delicates-Fine linens, lingerie, and some synthetic fabrics
When wash and dry cycles are finished
It is very important to remove clothes and fold or hang as soon as possible to prevent wrinkling.
If this is not possible, Hopefully you have taken my advice and purchased a LG dryer with steam. Run clothes
through a steam refresh cycle to remove wrinkles. If you don't have the steam option, put
a damp towel in the load and run it for a few minutes. It is always good to run a cool down cycle at the end of the
drying time. Clothes that are very hot when the dryer shuts off are prone to wrinkling if left in the dryer in a
pile.
